FOOD PYRAMID
IST TRIMESTER
No nausea and vomiting:
Eat protein and iron rich diet
2 glasses of milk and 1 katori curd
1 apple
1 banana
1 lemon
Do not take any medicine on your own
Only Digene and Paracetamol is safe in case of emergency till you consult your doctor
Nausea and vomiting:
Nothing to worry
Please stop forcing the pregnant lady to eat lots and drink milk cur if she is not tolerating; after 3 months she is going to start feeling better and start eating on her own
Eat small and frequent meals
Keep lots of candies, ginger toffees, black salt, and kala khatta toffees with you
If you are not able to digest food, eat whatever you like to; even chocolate and ice cream will do for the calorie part
If you are vomiting do not stop eating; keep eating after you feel better, you will not be dehydrated and will not land up in the hospital
Avoid chinese food with aginmoto; any chinese dish without this can be eaten
II ND TRIMESTER
Keep taking fruits (seasonal)
Make a protein rich atta for your rotis by adding gram flour and soyabean flour to it, you can use missi atta
Take 1-2 eggs daily for nonvegetarians, chicken soup and fish(less oil, sauté)
Soya bean is richest in protein diet for vegetarians so take soya nuggets, soya milk, soya paneer (TOFU): soyabean, rajma, lobiya, sabut dals and ankurit with paneer and tofu
For rich iron diet jaggery (gud), peanut, peanut butter, gud channa, anar juice, awala chutney, munnaka and anjeer ki khir
Coconut water is very good for baby
Avoid lots of rice, potato, sweets during pregnancy
If you are diabetic you might lose weight
III 3D TRIMESTER
Same as second trimester
But include exercise and physiotherapy in your schedule
Eat dinner early and take a walk
Do not sleep for 2 hrs after dinner or else you will feel uneasy a night
LACTATION
DIET COUNTERS:
IRON-30 mg/day+2 mg copper and 15 mg zinc
CALCIUM- 1000mg/day (1 glass milk=250 ml calcium = 1 katori curd)

But it is not necessary for all to gain weight upto 11-15 kgs
